The truth is: most of the information out there is based on personal experiences, opinions, or a handful of posts in groups.
So for the 2026 season, Hatchaholics is doing something different.
We’re Collecting Shipped Hatching Egg Results — From the Community
This year, we’re gathering real-world shipped hatching egg results from buyers and sellers so we can compile the data at the end of the season and share the overall trends.
This isn’t meant to call out anyone, and it’s not meant to create drama.
It’s meant to create something the hatching community has needed for a long time:

Why This Matters
Shipped hatching eggs come with extra variables that local eggs don’t.
Even when eggs are packed well, shipping introduces risks like:
- detached or damaged air cells
- hairline cracks
- temperature swings
- delays
- vibration and impact
- handling that no seller can control
That doesn’t mean shipped eggs are “bad.” It just means hatch rates can be unpredictable — and we need more realistic expectations based on real data.
What We’re Tracking
The form collects simple details such as:
- how many eggs were shipped
- if they arrived intact or damaged
- shipping carrier and timing
- packaging method
- hatch rate (if known)
- any notes that may help explain outcomes
